Beautiful photograph, Annie. How many times did I serve Low Mass here or assist at Rosary here before Benediction at the High Altar? This was always the Altar of Repose in Holy Week. Beautiful tapestry frontal and carved wood triptych above. As a youngster, I was always fascinated by the chap in the centre piece, whose shovel (at the bottom) has a split in it! I understand this used to be the High Altar in the days before the present sanctuary was built onto the nave. Quite one of my 'favouritist' altars!
