St Gertrude, bet she would have a thing or two to say about confessionals. I love her prayer for the Holy Souls:
"Eternal Father, I offer Thee the Most Precious Blood of Thy Divine Son, Jesus, in union with the Masses said throughout the world today, for all the Holy Souls in Purgatory.''

I have a little pamphlet of very traditional prayers, which includes the prayer you have quoted. The version it gives is a little longer, thus:
"Eternal Father...holy souls in Purgatory, for sinners everywhere, for sinners in the Universal Church, those in my own home and within my family. Amen"
A note with the prayer says:
'Our Lord told St. Gertrude the Great that the followin prayer would release one thousand souls from Purgatory each time it is said. The prayer was later extended to include living sinners as well.'
How's that for prayer-power? Imagine making up a chaplet, along the lines of the Divine Mercy - that adds up to fifty thousand souls. A sobering thought.
You've got good taste in prayers.
A web site is given in the book if anyone is interested. It is:-
