Father Gerard Hatton celebrated Mass in Extraordinary form in honour of 100th apparition of Our Lady of Fatima at the kind request of Mrs Pamela Talbot, Diamond Farmhouse near Uckfield, Sussex, on Wednesday the 17th of May. The Mass was attended by a large group of all ages, coming from Eastbourne, Seaford, Lewes and surrounding areas. The Recollection commenced with Mass, with Ben kindly serving. This was followed by an insightful talk by Fr Gerard on the subject of Our Lady. The essence of the talk was about the Blessed Virgin, being the first Ciborium of the Word. Our Lady's response to God's call, Her Fiat and how we are to mirror this example by handing over our Will to the Father. Our Heavenly Mother will nourish and prepare us to be presented to the Holy Trinity. A shared lunch followed, and provided an enjoyable opportunity for fellowship. Sacrament of Reconciliation was available. The afternoon programme culminated in a Procession, the Crowning of Our Lady, Adoration with Benediction. The Procession was delightful. This added to the festivities, as three young children acted as visionaries of Fatima, Lucia, Francisco, and Jacinta. The walk took the company around the beautiful gardens, finishing in the Chapel with Benediction and Litany. We wish to thank Mrs. Talbot for hosting the day.
